The mission of GEMS, Girls Educated and Motivated for Success, is to prepare and
empower at-risk young women for successful roles in society by providing educational
experiences in career, communication, as well as social and life skills. Each month,
members participate in workshops, a social event, and a general meeting. The workshops
are about women in different careers and getting ready for college. The social events are
used as a way for the club members to build character and improve social and
networking skills. GEMS also participate in community service around the school and
the community. There are many challenges facing young women today. Being a part of
GEMS helps prepare and empower the club members to become successful women.

Club Creed

A Living Gem
Woman, strong and bold
Someone so beautiful a man yearns to hold…
Woman, Mother Nature’s rarest gift…
The Lord’s toll for a child he wants to lift…
Woman, a born leader
Known at times to a an educator…
And sometimes even a mediator…
Woman, a gem with style and unending grace…
Someone who should be dressed in satin and lace…
Woman, finer than gold
A treasure that can never get too old
Woman, brighter than the morning sun…
Mother of our chosen ones…
Woman an Everlasting Living Gem…
